León, Gto., November 14, 2017.- With the objective to analyze the working conditions of the youth in the entity, at the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus León of the University of Guanjauato (UG), was held the first interdisciplinary youth and work forum in the state of Guanajuato.

The welcome message was given by Dr. Alex Ricardo Caldera Ortega, Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, who gave historical facts about the Division, as well as important aspects that have allowed its evolution and the condition in which it is today.

At the forum, the role of main actors who procure the work and academic insertion of the youth, was analyzed with guests from the Legislative Power, the Department of Sustainable Economic Development (SDES), representatives of the high and higher education, as well as members of the syndicate and the civil organizations that promote youth employment.

They explained that the job market offered by private institutions, against that is found in the market, as well as the benefits of law that the worker must have. Likewise, they mentioned the conditions and disadvantages of working in the informal market and its consequences such as, no social security, nor credit for housing.

At the event, they gave important data related to the situation that is current in the state of Guanajuato: low school level of the population, wages under the national medium; second place in the nation with people who don't work nor study, plus not only 12% of the youth makes more than four thousand six hundred pesos per month; from which derives that two thirds of the youth in the state make less than three minimum wages.

From another perspective, the representatives of the educational institutions in high and higher education, expressed the importance of knowing the cases of the student population, the context of the economic situation, age, gender, as well as the family and cultural conditions that represent factors that determine the continuity in studying, or the timely work insertion. Even cases where there's a lack of opportunities, have been left without any of these two possibilities; as a result, the incorporation in domestic and family situations, where there's no economic remuneration whatsoever.

In contrast, the representatives of the syndicate organisms assured that, one of their objectives to provide certainty and support the worker to have better salaries and adequate benefits.
