Irapuato, Gto. November 22, 2017.- To encourage research on sustainability, the Department of Environmental Sciences of the University of Guanajuato (UG), held the first International Forum of Energies and Sustainability.

Academics and staff of the program in Environmental Engineering and Renewable Energies, summoned exerts in the topic of control and prevention of the damage to natural resources generated by industrial, economic or social projects.

The forum began with the conference "Actual problem and the daily act of the environmental engineer in its solution" by Dr. Graciela Ma. de la Luz Ruíz Aguilar, Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and who has a vast experience in the environmental sciences area. As a researcher, she spoke about the relevance of the application and use of renewable energies and the impact it has on everyday life.

For Thursday November 23, Dr. Luis Ignacio DIez Pinilla of the University of Zaragoza, will give the master conference "International vision of renewable energies".

Other scheduled conferences are "water quality", "removal of water pollutants", "waste water treatment", "use of wastage", and simultaneously, the workshops "determination of arsenic and fluorides in watering water", "spectral methods" and a practical course of thermography.

The Director of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Rogelio Costilla Salazar called all the productive, governmental and social sectors to thoroughly review this knowledge because the environmental remediation being made now is from problems inherited for decades.

The forum was inaugurated by the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, who next to the university community, witnessed the relay between the student Claudia Itzel Delgado and Carlos Mancera, the latter took on the commitment to provide continuity to this academic activity.

The attendants reflected that the progress of humankind has occurred to a very high cost for the function of the planet and the species, hence, the educational programs offered by the University of Guanajuato, such as the Environmental Engineering and Engineering on Renewable Energies, allow the formation of professionals who help in the search for sustainable development without uncaring for ecology, economy and social topics.
