ug-fortalece-su-vinculacion-con-diferentes-sectores-sociales-ug-ugtoLeón, Gto., November 22, 2017.- With the mission to strengthen the liaison of the University of Guanajuato (UG) with different social sectors, the first "TIK Fuerza UG" forum (Technoloky, Innovation & Knowledge. Social Engine) was held. In it, the technology, innovation and knowledge that is generated in thirteen research and teaching laboratories at Campus León, was presented.

During the forum, they presented the research and teaching services the laboratories of the three divisions form in Campus León, among which we can find are related to dosimetry and thermoluminescence, ultrasound, toxicology, microbiology and clinical pathology, psychology, and infrared thermography.

They also presented the laboratories of the Academic Body of Studies in the Nervous System, Public Policies for Local Development, Interpretative Audiovisual Ethnography (ETNOAI), Environmental Nourishment and Food Safety (LANAYSA), Biomaterials and Biomechanics, Nursing venue León and Physiology of the Physical Exercise.

During the welcome message, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus León of UG, highlighted the importance to show to the public, private and social sector, the work is made on Campus, as well as the need to increase the relevance of the university's activities, strengthen liaison strategies with the environment and implement substantial programs considering the needs of the diverse social sectors.

He mentioned that is necessary to have actions with high impact in the community, and "face with responsibility and commitment, the task to make science, technology and innovation we create inside this university community, to efficiently contribute to the development of our state."

The professors-researchers of Campus León, were in charge to present the objectives and projects of each laboratory at Campus León. Dr. Rebeca Monroy Torres of the Division of Health Sciences and Dr. Maricruz Romero Ugalde, who presented the laboratories of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities; as well as Dr. Carlos Villaseñor Mora, Coordinator of Support for Research and Postgraduate on Campus, who showed the laboratories of the Division of Sciences and Engineering.

Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support for Research and Postgraduate, who attended representing the President of UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, mentioned in an interview that the university has the capability to solve problems in different sectors of society, for which it must generate an approach to distinct actors to participate in the solution.

Also, he highlighted the research done in different areas of knowledge, in which they are project leaders in a local, national and international level, plus, for January 30, 2018, they'll reach a total of 530 researchers certified by the National Researchers System (SNI) –150 0f them are ascribed to Campus León—so the research capability augments.

 

The event also had the presence of Dr. Salvador Hernández Castro, Director of Liaison of the University of Guanajuato; Dr. Mario Sopeña Mata, Director of Municipal health; M. Juan Carlos Mora Hernández, Coordinator of Academic Development of Campus León, plus the board of the three divisions at Campus León, representatives of the public and private sectors, students and professors of campus.
