promueven-competitividad-ug-ugtoYuriria, Gto., November 21, 2017.- Professionals in logistics and competitiveness, participated in the II International Symposium of Industrial Processes held at the venue Yuriria of the University of Guanajuato (UG).

Speakers with a great career gathered at the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, to share their experiences, among them, Dr. Elizabeth de la Torre of the Mexican Transportation Institution (IMT).

While giving the conference "Logistics: key factor for competitiveness", it was reflected that for a better infrastructure, the public services and competiveness in general, it requires a culture focused on logistics. The strategic logistic plans of the organizations allow to maximize the efficiency in managing inventories and planning the demand, in transport and distribution.

With the talk "Calamities and disasters: study of the resilience from systems engineering", participated Dr. Benito Sánchez Lara, who is head of the Department of planning, financial optimization and transport in the Division of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at UNAM, with lines of regional planning, planning and evaluation in supply chains and planning methodology and organizational development.

Dr. Jöns Sánchez Aguilar of the "Instituto Tecnológico de Querétaro (ITQ) gave the conference "Water, energy and food security for engineering" and Dr. Ricardo Pérez Rodríguez of the Research Center in Mathematics A.C. (CIMAT), spoke about "algorithms for routing of vehicles with time windows".

The symposium was organized by the professors Dr. Roberto Baeza Serrato, Dr. Marco Bianchetti and Dr. María Susana Ávila García, by the interest of the students to know the systems of production, supplying and logistics, in addition to set the foundations for future collaborations with the guest speakers.

The symposium's topics is relevant because Mexico has presented a sustained growth in the production and exportation of different products, which will allow to broaden the access to all national and international markets and for that, it requires improving its competitiveness.
