Guanajuato, Gto., November 16, 2017.- On Thursday afternoon, the activities of the first UN model for the University of Guanajuato –UGMUN—which has the purpose for the students to get interested in today's global problems and seek solutions.

In the auditorium of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), students from all campuses and divisions gathered to begin their dissertations, under the same model United Nations uses, so each delegate, will represent a country and varied problems, from security, health to food, war and peace and tolerance.

At the opening act, representing the rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, Academic Secretary of Campus, congratulated the 36 young students who created the UGMUN 2017 organizing committee, who for months, they dedicated to this project.

"We are very proud for this exercise to be held at UG and convinced that 157 participants in this edition will live a unique experience", affirmed Dr. Gutiérrez, who sustained that there's n doubt that the contributions will impact the university community, values, team work, social awareness and vision of belonging.

Also, the engineer Jorge Enrique Hernández Meza, EDUCAFÍN's General Director, congratulated them for the initiative and wished that the authorities raise to the expectations of the youth who will briefly take the command of this country and from whom their enthusiasm is required.

Representing Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, President of the UG, was present CPA Cecilia Lucía González Martínez, Coordinator of Student Encouragement of this university.

In his opportunity, Sergio Eduardo Montalvo Maving, a student of the Division of Engineering (DI) and UGMUN 2017's General Secretary, assured that everybody will "raise the name of the University of Guanajuato, with the symbol of unity, peace, work and the most important: truth."

While addressing his peers, he reminded them that they cannot do less, "we have what it takes to make the difference and break the image of an antipathy youth, we must join to guarantee the sustainable development for everyone."

Luis Roberto González Santos del Muro, a student of the Division of Law, Politics and Government, and sub-secretary of UGMUN 2017, who pronounced to create awareness and seek solutions to problems. He explained how the project emerged "from students for students", because UG needed the model and it was pleasing "to work in a team with extremely talented and engaged people of the different Campus and disciplines". The works will continue for the next two days.
