Guanajuato, Gto., November 25, 2017.- A scholar of the University of Guanajuato (UG) was given the National Psychology 2017 Award, which will be handed by the Mexican Federation of Psychology A.C., institution responsible for the promotion of the psychological science throughout the country, next December 18th in Cuernavaca, Morelos.
The awarded, Dr. Luis Felipe El-Sahili González obtained the award in the Category I, Scientific Research, due to his dedication in theoretical divulgation, as well as research and construction of useful models for the development of psychology.
Dr. El-Sahili is a professor at HS León of UG, and assured that obtaining this award is very important for him, since it represents the value of his work in the subject, which has been built by constant effort, renewal and research in topics of social interest.
Because of his contribution in the subject, he was proposed by the School of Psychologists of the State of Guanajuato, to participate in the summon of the National Psychology Award. This award has the objective to strengthen, through this stimulus, the doing of who already does an outstanding work, as well as motivating the academic and student community of this country.
He added that his passion for psychology has been around since a young age, and has been motivated by the family example, particularly her mother who has a lawyer all her life, and, she was the first woman to finish a Law degree at UG, which implies a great role model to him because of her constant fight and overcoming obstacles.
Dr. El-Sahili has more than 20 published books by some of the main editorials in the country. He has a Ph.D. in Psychology and Education by the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (UAQ). Also, he has a Ph.D. in Pedagogy by the School of Postgraduate Studies of the Bajío, A.C. (CEPOB).
It is worthy to mention that the president of the evaluating jury of the National Psychology 2017 Award, was Dr. Roberto Hernández Sampieri, who has been distinguished with the Honoris Causa by the Universidad Pitágoras de México in 2009; has received several honoris causa doctorates from prestige universities of Peru and Chile; and currently is in the process of receiving two more in Venezuela and Peru.
