Guanajuato, Gto., November 23, 2017.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) will be present in the International Book Fair of Guadalajara (FIL), the most important editorial gathering of Spanish America and an extraordinary cultural festival, same that will be held from November 25 to December 3 this year.
This time, UG's Editorial will have, for the first time, a stand and will be set in the national area of the universities zone, there, people will find all the publications made in the educational institution, from the four campuses and high school college that compose it.
UG's editorial coordinator, Dr. Elba margarita Sánchez Rolón said that they will also have various titles on the stand from Fondo Guanajuato, an initiative of the State Institute of Culture that gathers all the outstanding editorials in the entity.
Dr. Rolón highlighted that one of the novelties and premieres of the FIL is the presentation of the Collection "Cocodrilos" –which will integrate by several literary genres and will include university authors, from the state and outsiders—. From the latter, comes the book "Un mundo extraño" by Oliverio Macias and will be presented by the author and poet, Ángel Ortuño, on November 26 at 20:00hrs.
In addition, she mentioned there will be several editorial presentations of UG, which will be held in the Fondo Guanajuato stand. Firstly, on November 25 at 20:00hrs, they will present the book "El derecho penal del enemigo es un estado constitucional: especial referencia en México" where Dr. Leonardo Eduardo Astrain Bañuelos will participate.
Then, on Sunday 26 at 14:00hrs, they will present "El dispositivo sexo-género" by Cuauhtémoc Nattahí Hernández Martínez with the presence of the author and Dr. Elba Sánchez Rolón, this publication is part of the Master Class José Revueltas.
Likewise, "Margarita Villaseñor: poesía reunida" will also have a place at the stand on December 1 at 18:00hrs; it will be presented by the writer Enrique Serna; the editorial coordinator for the book, Carlos Ulises Mata and the poet Amaranta Caballero, will be reading aloud the text of Villaseñor.
On Saturday, December 2, the activities will continue, since they will present the book "Pequeña Galería de la Cinematografía" that belongs to the collection "Pequeña Galeria del Pensamiento", where Asunción Rangel, Liliana García and Ramón Bárcenas will intervene.
Lastly, they will also present the book "Primera llama(ra)da", which is a selection of works of the First Regional Show of Dramaturgy 2016, where Loreine Jiménez and David Eudave will intervene.
It is important to mention that, the FIL was conceived as cultural festival in which the literature is the spine, with a program in which authors from all continents and languages will participate, as well as a space for academic discussion of the great topics that cross our present time.
For the nine days of the fair, the public will listen to their favorite authors, and the city is filled with music, art, movies and theater of the honor guest country and region; which this year is Madrid.
To finalize, Dr. Elba Margarita Sánchez Rolón emphasized that one of the main function of the university editorial is to give diffusion to the published works "we are not a commercial editorial but a university editorial, our task is to reflect all the work done in the institutions, reason why we are making new collections that have to do with the support to teaching, research products and publications of cultural and artistic diffusion."
She also highlighted that they are preparing for the 7th edition of the International Reading Fair of Yucatán (FILEY) to be celebrated from March 10 to 18 in 2018 in Mérida, where the University of Guanajuato, will be the guest of honor.
