Salamanca, Gto., November 30, de 2017.- The Mechanical Engineering Program taught at the University of Guanajuato (UG) in the venue Salamanca, obtained the Level I in the Census of Higher Education Good Quality Programs, from the Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education A.C. (CIEES).

CIEES dictated that the program taught in the Division of Engineering of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, will have the Level I for three years, from October 2017 to November 2020.

These committees, issued an executive report, which, highlights as strengths of the program, that the academic staff is high-quality, and the graduates have an excellent acceptance from the employers.

The external academic peers from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, of the Universidad Veracruzana and the Universidad Tecnológica de Huejotzingo, who visited the facilities and interviewed students, graduates and professors; worked together with the executive vocal of the Interinstitutional Committee of Engineering and Technology to issue their dictum.

Together, they identified as strengths of the program, that the students participate in mobility, research and liaison programs, including actions with associations of national and international professionals.

They agreed that the physical and academic infrastructure is good, because there are laboratories and workshops that combine traditional equipment with point-guard equipment, and the library's facilities are excellent.

They also added to this result, that most of the professors have a Ph.D. and has a preferable profile, they are members of the National Researchers System and collaborate in consolidated academic bodies. Likewise, some professors are promoters of international-professional associations with student branches, they observed.

Finally, the CIEES suggested to improve the mechanisms to increase the terminal efficiency and degree obtainment, as well as to reinforce the program of graduate follow up.
