ug-tercera-en-movilidad-estudiantil-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., a 15 de enero de 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) has consolidated as one of the Mexican institutions that receives more exchange students, positioning as the third in the country. The latter was informed by authorities of the universities while welcoming who will make an academic internship in the school cycle which is about to begin.

During the ceremony, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, sustained that education serves to grow not only as professionals but as people, since multiculturality represents "an opportunity to know other forms to see the world."

This time, 192 students were welcomed, 132 are foreign and 60 come from other states of the country.

In the school cycle about to begin, young students from countries such as Germany, Colombia, Spain, China, Argentina, France, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Peru, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Chile will study in some of the four campuses the university has.

The President added that it is important for UG to sign collaboration agreements, because they represent pacts of brotherhood and reciprocal commitment between universities.

Previously, the Director of International Relationships and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, announced that from October 2015 to today, 109 agreements have been signed, which means an agreement per week in average.

Currently, there are UG students in 44 countries in the five continents, and UG has received young students from 48 countries.

He added that in the last two years, more than 800 UG students have participated in mobility programs, so they have received institutional support for aerial transport, enrollment grant, and in some cases, food and lodging.

During the ceremony, Bianka Gautreau and Florence Bissou, students of the Laval University, Canada, spoke on behalf of who will make mobility internships at UG. In their message, they shared the most important details of their culture, and spoke about the expectations they have for their internship in Mexico.

Same as them, Manuel Ignacio García, a psychology student in the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, said in an interview that his purpose is to learn academically but also personally. He considered important to step out of the comfort zone and participate in an international academic experience, "it is a learning that changes your life" he affirmed.

At the welcome ceremony were present: UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo; the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez, and members of the university community.
