Celaya, Gto., January 15, 2018.- The bachelor's degree in Nutrition of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato (UG), entered Ceneval's Census of High-Academic Performance Degrees, Level 1.

The National Center of Evaluation for Higher Education (Ceneval) recognized the Nutrition program of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, for entering, according to the results achieved by their graduates during the evaluation period between July 2016 and June 2017.

During this period, they evaluated knowledge, skills and competencies of the graduates through the General Exam for Graduates (EGEL).

EGEL evaluated how the graduates from the Nutrition program had the essential knowledge and skills for the professional career.

A product of the evaluation, they obtained valid and reliable information about the ideal state of each graduate considering a national formation standard. Besides, the program's efficiency was determined, as well as the actions for continuous improvement the University of Guanajuato has, to assure quality.

EGEL census is composed by higher education programs that register an elevate proportion of their graduates with satisfactory or outstanding results in the exam.

Evaluation and accreditation are processes that help effectively to improve the higher education to answer with greater opportunity and growing levels of quality, the demands of the social and economic development of the country and region.

According the information provided by Dr. Silvia del Carmen Delgado Sandoval, Director of the Division of health Sciences and Engineering, to which the degree in Nutrition belongs to, as part of the continuous improvement process, UG encourages the evaluation of its programs, relying on the evaluation made by impartial organisms with renowned prestige, such as the National Council of Evaluation for Higher Education.

Dr. Graciela Ma. de la Luz Ruíz Aguilar, Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, congratulated the program's coordinator, Dr. Cuauhtémoc Sandoval Salazar, the staff and students for reaching this recognition, since this is only possible thanks to the effort and work from all who is involved, she said.
