Guanajuato, Gto., January 17, 2018.- Within the 90th birthday of the author from Guanajuato, Jorge Ibargüengoitia, the University of Guanajuato (UG) prepared a series of activities to homage the writer during the International Reading Fair Yucatán (FILEY), which will be held from March 10 to 18.

On January 22nd, 2018, it's 90 years from the birth of Jorge Ibargüengoitia, an author that had national and international acknowledgement and has a vast production of novel and theater. "He is part of our heritage and we want to homage him within our participation in the FILEY", mentioned the Coordinator of the Editorial program at UG, and professor of the Department of Spanish Languages, Dr. Elba Margarita Sánchez Rolón.

They have scheduled a talk with the writer Jorge Fernández, who shares with Ibargüengoitia the humor within the fiction; plus, because some novels of the author from Guanajuato were taken to the brig screen, there will be a movie cycle called "Cuévano" in FILEYS theaters, detailed the scholar.

In addition, as an initiative of the student community, they will make readings of Ibargüengoitia's work.

These activities add to literary, academic and artistic events developed by UG in FILEY, which represents "an opportunity to approach another educational institution, to another zone in the country; show editorial products and where we can also celebrate these writers, which is part of the commitment of UG and the editorial with the authors of Guanajuato", expressed Dr. Sánchez.

FILEY is a space where different literary, scientific, artistic and human manifestations converge, and it is encouraged by the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), and this time, the guest is Guanajuato.

Therefore, besides the editorial work of the university, they will show the work done by artistic groups such as the Estudiantina and the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato (BAFUG); there will be book presentations, conferences and a series of tables about authors of Guanajuato such as Efraín Huerta and Margarita Villaseñor, since Yucatán is interested in the literary archive of what we are in the state, said the coordinator of the university's editorial.
