
Guanajuato, Gto., January 19, 2018.- The enrollment period for the Propaedeutic Seminar of the Department of Hispanic Languages are open from January 15th to January 27th; this course will be taught at the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities (DCSH) from Campus Guanajuato of UG, at the venue Valenciana.
Dr. Andreas Kurz, Director of the Department of Hispanic Languages, invited everyone who might be interested in the Spanish Languages bachelor's degree, to participate in this seminar that will be held on Saturday sessions from March 3 to May 12, 2018, at the facilities of the venue Valenciana of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
They foresee a total of eight three-hour sessions: from 10:30 to 13:30, with an hour and a half for each module, with the main objective to properly prepare the applicants for the admission process (exam and interview).
Likewise, they seek to develop the analytic and critic text reading to prepare for the admission exam and the correspondent interview of who desires to enter this degree, through the reconnaissance and practice of the knowledge, competencies, attitudes and basic values to study Spanish Languages, according to the graduate profile of the general baccalaureate.
It is important to mention that; the course is not a requirement to enter the program but offers an option to prepare for the admission exam.
The requirements are: have coursed a higher level (high school) education or equivalent; show sensitivity, taste and intertest for the knowledge and study of social studies and the culture, mainly its literature and its relationship with other forms of artistic expression.
Also, have knowledge about literary studies in general, be able to express orally and written, have the habit of reading, and have a critic-reflective position and a respectful attitude.
Within the program, themes and chronogram of the seminar, revealed that the modules will teach classes about literature: general features of the literary language, prose, verse, figures and exercises of text recognition; the literary language: characteristics, prose and verse: differentiation; literary genres: classification and style: figures and troupes.
The module about critic reading and writing: will review the definitions, characteristics, examples and exercises od reading and writing: the paragraph, periods and sentences; the structure: cohesion and coherence.
Likewise: the text: features, types of text, critic reading and descriptive reading; writing: the topic, list of ideas, the construction of the paragraph and text writing.
The total cost of the inscriptions is $3,000 MXN plus $100 MXN for a college insurance (covers accidents within the facilities).
