Guanajuato, Gto., January 26, 2018.- Students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) obtained the CENEVAL Award for the EGEL-Excellence Performance (General Exam for bachelor's graduates), a distinction that acknowledges the academic quality of graduate in the country.

This award is given to whom can prove sustainable skills and knowledge in their discipline. From a total of 1,037 students in the country worthy of receiving the CENEVAL Award, 36 studied in a Higher Education Institution of the State of Guanajuato, and 27 of these young are from UG.

The 27 students that obtained this award graduated from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, from the program in Administration, Nursing and Midwifery, and Clinical Psychology; of Campus Irapuato Salamanca, from the programs of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering; of Campus Guanajuato, from the programs in Law, and from Campus León from Nursery and Midwifery.

According this information provided by the Department of School Trajectories of the Institution, the awarded graduates from UG represent a 2.6% --according the total number of receivers of the distinction in the country—and in the state, 75%.

From the beginning of the CENEVAL evaluation for the EGEL-Excellence Performance (2011), students of the University of Guanajuato have obtained the award in different disciplines.

The evaluation offers also the chance to improve the educational programs, because knowing the level of the graduates, it allows to detect outstanding areas and opportunity areas for continuous improvement of UG's educational programs.

It is worthy to mention that; this award was handed to the graduate for their outstanding performance in the period Jan-Jun 2017, however, because of the earthquake on September 2017, the ceremony was postponed until January 2018.
