Salamanca, Gto., January 31, 2018.- With the interest to increase the mobility of Colombian professors and students with the University of Guanajuato (UG), professors of the University of Santo Tomás de Aquino (USTA) made several international cooperation actions with professors from the Division of Engineering at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca.
During their visit to the UG's Salamanca campus, the engineers of the Department of Mechatronics at USTA, section Bucaramanga; Emerson Jasan Olaya Benítez and Andrés José Rodríguez Torres, interviewed with diverse research groups with the objective to seek common work lines towards the development of bilateral projects.
They also explored options for double degree, since the visiting professors expressed their interest in encouraging the creation of a double degree project with the academic program of Mechatronic Engineering.
Now, many students of USTA have shared the quality of the professors from the Division of Engineering, by including themselves in projects through the Scientific Research Summers of the University of Guanajuato.
As of today, there are many Colombian USTA students who are enrolled in UG's International Student Mobility Program for a semester; they were attracted by the high-performance academic programs at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca.
The increment in the number of USTA students at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, was the result of the additional product of the timely actions to internationally promote the postgraduates, supported by the Direction of Support for Research and Postgraduate (DAIP) and the authorities of the Division of Engineering at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca.
The University of Santo Tomás de Aquino, is a national and non-profit private catholic higher education institution. It has presence in five Colombian cities with venues and sections in Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Medellín, Tunja and Villavicencio in the presence modality and 23 University Attention Centers in the open and distance modality.
USTA professors visited the Division of Engineering from January 15 to 19.
