Guanajuato, Gto., February 12, 2018.- Juan Pablo Calvillo Díaz de León and Adolfo Pérez Cerda, students at the Division of Economic Administrative Sciences of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG) were elected by the Bank of Mexico to be, through all 2018, Banxico College Liaisons.

Calvillo Díaz de León is a student at the fourth semester of the degree in International Trade, while Pérez Cerda is in the sixth semester of the degree in Public Accounting; both responded to the summon and presented an individual work plan that they will begin to develop once it is authorized by the Bank of Mexico in the next days.

The appointment of Banxico College Liaison is the result of a national summon by the Bank of Mexico, in which approximately 500 students were selected from different states, to recognize their academic achievements in areas related with economy, finance and public policies.

"To be a Banxico College Liaison, you must have an outstanding academic career, a good GPA, records of having participated in contests, have knowledge on economy and public policies", explained Adolfo Pérez.

So, with that appointment, Juan Pablo and Adolfo can learn in depth the functions and the purpose of the Bank of Mexico, interact and approach other liaisons, as well as functionaries of this organism.

Regarding the work plans proposed by the college students, they consider several actions such as: the promotion of the activities of the Bank of Mexico in social media, as well as printed material, conducting research on issues such as monetary policy, organization and convening among colleagues to conduct talks, video calls and meetings with renowned speakers who share their experience in the economic and financial field, among others.

In this sense, Juan Pablo considers that among the young university students, "we need a little more diffusion of the economic and financial issues between my colleagues in the division, because even though we are of the branch, we have to make a lot of emphasis to be able to spread all the information we want and leave good foundations."

It is worth mentioning that at the end of the period 2018, the Mexican organism will select the five Banxico College Liaisons with greater commitment to receive a distinction for its performance and to make a visit to the facilities of the Bank of Mexico.

Finally, the students of the Division had an opportunity to send a message to their peers; Juan Pablo recommends "to get involved in these activities, a riskless life is the greatest risk of all, we must immerse in the world of investments, of saving, and be a practical part of this and not only stay with that the University teaches, au contraire, seek new goals and new opportunities."

In the meantime, Adolfo invites all the young students to "surround ourselves with entrepreneurs, go to entrepreneur conferences, you start from there, creating and optimal ambience to develop different skills to those we are familiar with, prepare on the topics we are interested, but the most important is to dare to participate and don't give up."

Both Banxico College Liaisons are at the service of the University Community for any approach with them and consult or share their experience, and motivate them to participate in the next editions, as well as all of the summons issued by the Bank of Mexico.
