Guanajuato, Gto., February 20, 2018.- The new members of the free legal firm of the University of Guanajuato (UG) began functions, which at its 79 years of creation, has been a bridge between this House of studies and the Guanajuato society.

This office, created in its time as a professional social service for Law students of the then College of the State, has established itself as an organism to which the Guanajuatenses of scarce resources resort in demand of justice.

In this tenor, UG's Campus Guanajuato offered a recognition to the free legal firm of the University of Guanajuato, because of the conclusion and beginning of the cycle for new members.

At the ceremony, Miguel Ángel Cervantes Flores, legal advisor of the Guanajuato campus, representing the Rector of campus, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, thanked the valuable services provided by students who completed their work at the free legal firm.

He also welcomed the new generation of students who are part of the team, "whose noble objective is to advise and represent free of charge to citizens, especially those with scarce resources, in civil, family, commercial, and labor trials among others. "

On July 26th this year, he said, the free legal firm will fulfill its 79 anniversary of creation and, during these almost eight decades of joint effort between professors and students, two are the most outstanding contributions: the ideal complement to theoretical knowledge received by law students, and as a solidarity bridge between the UG and the society eager to access justice.

The young people who joined the firm were reminded that they have an utmost responsibility: to advise and represent with quality those who deposit their trust, because in their minds and hearts they will have the most precious assets of society: freedom, heritage, the work and dignity of the people.

In his message, Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG), also held the foundation of the law firm for a social service, but especially with the intention that students practice law for the time they are part of the UG; in addition to the Guanajuato society who greatly appreciates this professional work.

Those who today leave, he said, have left a high degree of responsibility, well-carried litigation, well-managed consultancies, complaints (which are never missing) well-satisfied; But in addition, these hours have a curricular value and professional experience in the courts, so that the new members, urged that with sense of responsibility, intelligence and discipline, continue defending the causes with the best legal arguments, from the point of view of law and human rights.

Subsequently, the outgoing coordinators shared their experiences: Alejandra Rubí Ramírez and Juan David Cordero Cuevas, and awards were given to the members of the Generation 2016-2017.

For her part, the student coordinator of the firm, Nancy Gabriela Gómez Gasca, thanked for the creation of this space to the people who began this dream, leaving a wonderful inheritance to society and where many discover their passion for litigation, showing the more human side of the advocacy career, he said.

This new generation is committed and will strive to double, he said, at the time of reporting that in the period 2016-first months of 2018, were seen in the free legal Office 102 cases of family matter, 33 civil matter and 45 in commercial matters; 45 are completed and 115 are still in force.

They were also at the ceremony, Mr. Israel Martínez Ponce, Coordinator of the Law firm of UG and Dr. Ricardo Rodríguez Luna, Academic Secretary of the DDPG, in addition to the student community of the same division.
