Welcoming the students from the Lycée Sainte Marguerite, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, stressed that these exchanges imply an interconnection process between universities, cities and families.

In this sense, he reiterated his gratitude to the Lycée Sainte Marguerite de Chambray Les Tours for the trust placed at the University of Guanajuato "because every agreement is an expression of reciprocal trust," he said.

The Director of the High School College (CNMS), Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, reminded that this exchange is possible thanks for the signing of an agreement back in 2016.

This agreement seeks to promote the learning of a foreign language in high school students, as well as to carry out a development project related to the care of the water and the sustainable development.

In his message, Dr. Rizo underlined that the University of Guanajuato believes in youth and strives for its students to have a solid and comprehensive training from an international perspective.

The Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, remarked the brotherhood that exists between France and UG, and announced that this country is the third academic partner of this university, only after the United States and Spain.

He also revealed that the collaboration of the University of Guanajuato with French educational institutions began 22 years ago. As a result, approximately 50 French high-level students and 50 Mexicans can participate in mobility programs each year.

In the case of the agreement with the Lycée Sainte Marguerite de Chambray Les Tours, the important thing is that this collaboration benefits high school students, which makes it possible to form students with a global citizen profile from an earlier age, he said.

On behalf of the French delegation, Professor Marge Dallier thanked the hospitality of the University of Guanajuato and expressed her blessing to live this experience and to work on the theme of water, as the participating students are the adults of the tomorrow, and it's important to take care of the environment, she said.

In the meeting were also present students of UG's CNMS who previously made a stay in the Lycée Sainte Marguerite de Chambray, management personnel of the high schools of Guanajuato, Centro Histórico León, Salvatierra and Silao, among other representatives of the university community.
