
Guanajuato, Gto., February 28, 2018.- Reflecting the quality of the educational programs of the University of Guanajuato, which seek to encourage students in and out of the classroom, four undergraduate students from the Division of Economic Administrative Sciences (DCEA) of Campus Guanajuato, were selected to participate in the event #InnovarParaMi, organized by Google for Education in collaboration with the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in the city of Guadalajara.
For the selection of the students, a previous registration was made, where they had to propose a project to solve some problem in topics like health, education, environment and social equality, besides to explain the reasons of their interest to collaborate with Google.
Ricardo Mirón and Dolly Lozano of the degree in Administrative Information Systems; just as, Dasaev Múñoz and Brenda Márquez of the bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations participated in different activities, such as panel discussion, Design Thinking workshop and finally presenting their project to solve some specific problem.
The students presented two projects, the first one focusing on the prevention of chronic degenerative diseases (ECD), through the use of critical incidence factors; The second, akin to education, for which they created an intelligent assistant that helps reduce dropout, incorporating virtual reality technologies (VR) like Google Cardboard, which favor creativity and innovation in students.
It is important to note that, according to the educational model of the University of Guanajuato, the student is the center of the teaching-learning process, i.e., this is the manager of his own academic and life project, participating in activities that complement your comprehensive training as was this event.
For the Google for Education event, students carry out projects under the guidance of Dr. Edgar René Vázquez González, professor of the Department of Organizational Studies of the Division of Administrative Economics of the Guanajuato Campus.
