Guanajuato, Gto., March 5, 2018.- To strengthen the exchange program that is currently active between the High School College and the Lycée Sainte Marguerite de Chambray-Les-Tours, France, the event "Water for everyone and everywhere" was held.
HS Salvatierra hosted students and staff of the Lycée Saint Marguerite, who are in a two-week stay at the University of Guanajuato, reason why they had the opportunity to know the projects that the Water Culture Brigades make in the high school.
The main activity were the presentations in Pechakucha format, oversaw by the French delegation: "objectives and essence of the work of the Lycée Saint Marguerite de Chambray-Les-Tours", and "the problem of water in France and solutions to save it". The brigades presented: "the problem of water in Mexico and Guanajuato" by HS Centro Histórico León; the project "Water Culture Brigades" by HS León and HS Centro Histórico León; "Travelling droplets" by HS Celaya (venue Sauz) and the project "Water engineers" by students of HS Guanajuato.
This event begins the activities of the World Water Day 2018, so they used the occasion to carry out the First Poster Design "Water for everyone and everywhere" whose objective was to promote to the society and the university community the conservation of water by establishing a commitment of care and continuous work to preserve that vital liquid.
This contest was aimed for the students enrolled in the high schools, and it was successful since it they send 84 posters, and gave the following results: first place, the team comprised by Jorge García Meza, Andrea Guadalupe Murillo Torres, Roberto Piñón Ortiz, Iliana Hernández Vélez & María del Pilar Restrepo Elorza of HS Guanajuato, with the poster "Balance of life"; the second place was for the student Odette Donají Contreras Banda of HS Salamanca with the poster "Yolkatsin Amistli", and the third place for the team comprised by Karla Fernanda Arroyo Ortiz, Karla Arias Palacios, Martha Rodríguez Vallejo and Ana Valeria Villafaña Palacios of HS Guanajuato with the poster "Your waste, someone else needs it to live".
The qualifying jury was comprised by M. Dante Acal Sánchez, Responsible of the Environmental Handling and Sustainability Program of the University of Guanajuato; Lic. Francisco Roque Rodríguez, Collaborator in the State Water Commission and Lic. Luis Estrada Rivera, Chief of Design of the Direction of Communication and Liaison of the University of Guanajuato. The jury also have four honorific mentions and selected 11 posters for an itinerant and permanent gallery of the evaluated works.
At the event were present: Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, Director of the High School College; Dr. J. Herlindo Velázquez Fernández, Major of Salvatierra; C.P.A. Ma. Refugio Quintana Sánchez, Principal of HS Salvatierra; Lic. Ana Lilia Cuevas Galicia, Director of Communication and Water Culture representing Arq. Ma. Concepción Eugenia Gutiérrez García, General Director of the State Water Commission of Guanajuato; M. Marge Dallier, Professor of the Lycée Sainte Marguerite de Chambray-Les-Tours; M. Dante Acal Sánchez, Responsible of the Environmental Handling and Sustainability Program representing the Academic Secretary Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo and Qualifying Jury; Eng. J. Salud Guerrero Nieto, Director of the Municipal System of Water and Sewage of Salvatierra and Lic. Josué Hernández Serrato, Professor and responsible for the HS Salvatierra Brigades.
