This year the theme focused on the "kidney and women's health. Include, value and empower. " The activities included presentations focused on physiological changes in renal function during pregnancy, children at risk of chronic renal damage, nutrition of women with renal disease, prevention and renal health, empowerment and women and an experiential forum Between health personnel and patients with kidney damage.

The inauguration ceremony included the presence of the M. María del Pilar Fernández Carrasco, teaching coordinator of the Division of Health Sciences, who, on behalf of Dr. Tonatiuh García Campos, Director of the Division of Health Sciences, commented that this event is a space for reflection to put emphasis in the self-care of renal health, education and updating in these topics.

Dr. Víctor Manuel Ramos Frausto, a professor-researcher of the Department of Nursing and Obstetrics León headquarters and member of the organizing committee stressed that the figures of the renal damage have now transcended throughout the population, since it is considered a global public health problem.

In an interview the M. Elizabeth Cruz Rodríguez, also a professor in the department and member of the organizing committee, commented that in these days they seek to offer "general data of renal disease and epidemiological issues, which is not unique to a population sector or a specific age, until we know the complications and how we can prevent it."
