León, Gto., April 12, 2018.- With the objective to strengthen the collaboration links with researchers, as well as knowing the new generation for the study of the cells, their characteristics, understand their interaction, function of their components and their relationship with chronic degenerative diseases, was held the symposium "Omic tools to address the metabolic diseases" that took place in the venue 20 de enero of Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
Experts in Cytomics and Metabolomics gathered to share the attendees their lines of research, technology, techniques and methodologies used to generate knowledge that allows the understanding of the mechanisms that origin diseases such as diabetes mellitus type 2, metabolic syndrome, prostrate, among others, that represent problems in public health both in the country and internationally.
During the event the speakers talked about the challenges the scientific and student community must be able to develop research in which technology and necessary tools play a transcendent role, such is the case of the Flow Cytometer with which they make different molecular techniques for a faster cellular analysis.
Same as the independent analysis of the cellular culture and the cellular quantification per volume of sample, among other applications that are currently used not only in health, but also has a growth in the industry in the research of biofuels, control and monitoring of bioprocesses in the beer, pharmaceutical and veterinarian industries.
In this sense, Dr. Roberto González Amaro, Director of the Research Center for Health Sciences and Biomedicine of the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí commented in an interview, the importance Cytomics has and the different study techniques for the cellular study such as flow cytometry, flow cytometry with image, among others, since they "allow to understand the mechanisms that give place to diseases that are being a problem for humanity", besides the possibility to provide a timely diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
Dr. Nicté Figueroa Vega, a researcher of the Department of Medical Sciences of UG's Campus León, mentioned that in this event they showed "the type of research or the new projects we are developing with these methodologies, and strengthen not only our research lines of our academic bodies but also widen the networks we already have with other departments in the same campus and the collaboration we have with other institutions of the region".
She also highlighted the importance of making research and address topics about metabolic diseases from different points of view and develop techniques that contribute to the early detection of illnesses.
Leslie Cristine Rodríguez Mejía, a student of the Master's in Medical Sciences at Campus León mentioned that in her research protocol, she is analyzing the cardiovascular diseases, specifically atherosclerosis. She expressed that events like this allow to know the research results and have an approach with new techniques.
