ug-apoya-proyectos-emprendedores-a-traves-de-creativity-campus-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., April 23, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) set in motion the Creativity Campus, a project oriented to encourage the student initiatives that address problems in the society.

During the presentation of Creativity, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino mentioned that is the universities' responsibility to not only seek mechanisms to generate more knowledge but apply them to solve problems in the environment.

This project will be integrated to the Ecosystem of Liaison, Innovation, Development and Application of Knowledge of the University of Guanajuato (VIDA UG) with the purpose to achieve a greater synergy with different sectors.

Dr. Guerrero emphasized that the big problems of the society have no disciplinary barriers, "they demand a multidisciplinary vision", therefore, the challenge of the universities is to integrate different perspectives and efforts, to increase the response capability.

The rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, highlighted the initiative of the student community because Creativity allows to encourage the capabilities, commitment and team work.

Likewise, she thanked the support from General Rectory, as well as the decision of incorporate Creativity to VIDA UG, this gives a long-lasting sense to the project.

Creativity Campus is an opportunity to develop solutions with a multidisciplinary perspective, affirmed the Coordinator of the project, Lic. Reynaldo Granados Ojeda, who said that the objective is to have a group of services, and work in two currents: social entrepreneurism and economic-productive entrepreneurism.

Regarding social entrepreneurism, Creativity starts with the social laboratory by
Kaizen, through which they offer advisory and mentoring to college entrepreneurs, who receive aid to strengthen their initiatives.

In the economic-productive entrepreneurism area, there is Future Lab, a student's tech laboratory that seeks to expedite the solution of problems using science and its applications.

Both projects come from the idea of a co-responsible development, although they have different objectives, they share the same vision and commitment, share the knowledge to have a positive influence in the environment.

At the presentation of Creativity Campus were present: UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo; the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez; students who lead the Kaizen projects and Future Lab; university authorities, professors and students of the Campus.
