estudiante-de-la-universidad-de-guanajuato-fue-seleccionada-para-participar-en-talentum-2018-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., April 23, 2018.- Ana Claudia Carranco Flores, from the city of Cortazar, a student of the sixth semesters of the degree in International Trade; and she was selected to be part of the program "Talentum-Universidad: Los líderes que nos hacen falta" that, in this fourth edition, the topic will be "Solutions for a just, prosper and inclusive Mexico".

Ana Claudia, who in the future would like to work in the private business, studies in the Division of Economic Administrative Sciences (DCEA) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), and thanked publicly to Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López, Director of the Division and coordinator of her degree, for her institutional support.

Particularly, she thanked the support from her family, her mother and grandmother, who raised her and are for her, the most important pillar.

It is worth to mention that the Research Center of Economic Teaching (CIDE), through their Interdisciplinary Program about Politics and Educational Practices (PIPE), is the institution who has invited Mexican college students to be a part of the program "Talentum-Universidad" and, in case of being selected, to live a vanguard educational experience to widen and boost their academic and professional development.

Carranco Flores heard about the summon through social media, thanks to Dasaev Muñoz González, who is the ambassador of the Talentum program at UG, shared the invitation.

She said she decided to register by mere curiosity, to see what it was, and she was selected, so now she is the only student of the University of Guanajuato and the state, to participate in this important project.

The requirements to participate in this program are: to be a regular student at any degree, enrolled in any of the higher educations institutions of Mexico, can be public or private, be between the fifth and tenth semester; have a GPA of at least 8.0., and be interested in contributing to the development of Mexico.

Ana Claudia explained that different stages will come: From April 25 to May 1, will be the induction week, in which the selected students will travel to Mexico City where they'll attend master conferences, high-level trainings, different forms of interaction and strengthening skills to solve problems and generate innovation by facing the challenges and use the opportunities the country currently has.

From May 7 to August 17, and from September 17 to November 23, there will be work in distance by teams formed by these students from different entities, they will work via online in a project, same that will be assigned during the induction week.

From August 24 to September 4, there will be a trip abroad, where the youth will visit an international destination –until now, they haven't told them where, but they do know they'll cross the ocean—with one or more universities, they will receive master conferences, perfect their work in teams and meet the mots important leaders in the zone.

Previously, from May 7 to August 17, and September 6-7, they'll have "shadowing", meaning, be the "shadow" of someone for a typical work journey, with outstanding leaders in several areas of the Mexican society.

From November 26-30, award ceremony and closing will be held, after the trip abroad, the students will return to their places of origin and will continue perfecting their work in teams until they implement the project.

The teams must send progress and evidence of their work to the organizing committee and will participate in a contest which will the best averages will be revealed. The dictum will be announced virtually, through the program's social media, and with that, the 2018 edition of the program is officially closed.

Ana Claudia added that 32 universities from 11 states in the republic participate in this program, with the idea that 60 college students that were selected through an online process, to work in cognitive exams of Spanish and Mathematics in a second stage; interviews and presenting an essay.

DCEA's student revealed that last year, she made an academic stay in United States and came back wanting to do things, motivated and with the desire to continue learning; reason why she is very excited to have been selected to participate in Talentum 2018.

"Im really committed and motivated because Mexico needs the leadership from the young, the future decisions are in our hands, and as every selected team, we want to work for a better country", she said. She remarked that representing the University of Guanajuato is an honor for her.
