Guanajuato, Gto., April 27, 2018.- With the purpose to celebrate the children, the University of Guanajuato (UG) organized the eUGreka Festival of Divulgation of Science in the Teatro Cervantes Square.
The eUGreka program is an initiative to divulge and communicate science that shows generated scientific research by UG and contributed in creating a scientific culture through several projects aimed for different sectors of the society.
This time, the festival was dedicated to childhood. Since 10 in the morning, began the activities where the students, professors and researchers from different areas of the university such as: Education, Astronomy, Mines and Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Robotics, Nutrition, Mathematics, among others, participated.
The children approached actively to the different workshops where they could play with robots, arm space ships, know how a radio booth works, experience with non-Newtonian fluid, know the food that reinforce memory, make mobiles of mars and its satellites, among other games that stimulated the scientific imagination and curiosity of the attendants.
During the day, there were also theater plays that addressed topics related to science to acquire knowledge in a ludic manner. In addition, they installed a planetarium, with the purpose to approach the astronomical studies, as well as observing through telescopes.
The experiments, workshops, talks and activities developed during the eUGreka Festival gave the children, youth and public the opportunity to be seduced by the amazing paths of the scientific world.
It is precise to mention that eUGreka is a program encouraged by UG's Direction of Support for Research and Postgraduate that makes different events during the school cycle as science divulgation talks, radio programs, workshops, to mention some.
