Celaya, Gto., May 2, 2018.- Campus Celaya-Salvatierra reaffirmed its commitment with the promotion of excellence in professionals of nursing by supporting and achieving the certification from the "Consejo Mexicano de Certificación de Enfermería" (COMCE) of a large group of professors of the degree in Nursing and Midwifery.

At the event where the quality certificate was delivered to the professors of the campus, COMCE's President, M. Ofelia Pérez García, highlighted the importance of the certification and re-certification in the professional exercise and exalted the interest of the professionals to obtain the quality distinction, with which they prove to possess the level of competence needed for the labor professional profile.

The first category to receive the certificate and distinction from COMCE was the degree in Nursing and the distinguished were: María Maira Arriola Ortega, Aracely Martínez Miranda and Norma Arriola Ortega.

In the category of Teaching Nurse, which includes the full-time professors, assigned professors, and field professors; were certified: Ma. Elvira Moreno Pulido, Ma. Teresa Pratz Andrade, Maria Aurora Montañez Frausto, Rosa María Rodríguez Medina and Maritza Lizet Cárdenas Rodríguez.

Likewise, a recognition was handed to those nurses who obtained the excellence qualification in the certification process: María Maira Arriola Ortega, Norma Arriola Ortega & María Aurora Montañez Frausto.

Before the certificate ceremony, Mrs. Pérez gave the conference called "The certification of nursing in the professional practice", where she showed the nursing students gathered in this ceremony, the transcendence of certifying the professors to form future nurses.

She detailed the thorough process the certification has and remarked the validity of the results that are dictated after covering the technical and human requirements, same that are defined by their professional peers. "The certification favors the development of the professor, specially the student's formation", said the president of the certifying organism.

Also, she mentioned that certification is a strategy to improve the quality of care of nursing; guarantee to the society the quality of risk free care and a space of professional responsibility and ethics; "is an act of conscience", she said.

She emphasized that certifying in quality is a volunteer, objective, scrupulously ethic, transparent, impartial, public act linked to the international ambience, which is valid, starting from now, will be five years.

The University of Guanajuato promotes the certification of the professionals who lead the formation process of the students, to guarantee that the person being taken care of and the family, the safety in a risk-free care from the health professionals who graduate from this institution, mentioned Dr. Silva del Carmen Delgado Sandoval, Director of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering.

At the award ceremony, the professors were accompanied by their students and workmates, as well as the Director of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery (M. Rosario Tolentino Ferrel and the Coordinator Dr. Enrique Blancarte Fuentes.
