Guanajuato, Gto., May 8, 2018.- "GuanaHacks 2018" is an event organized by students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) with the support from the Direction of Student Development which will be held from May 18 to 20 at Magnus Spaces of Campus Guanajuato.
This activity is within the program of the Day of the Student, as it was announced in a press conference by María Isabel Arroyo Molina, President of Kaizen UG and Ricardo Mirón Torres, Director of Future Lab. Both groups formed by UG students have a special interest for the development of the youth, entrepreneurism and innovation.
"GuanaHacks" pretends to propose strategies and solutions to the problem insecurity through technological development, multidisciplinary and team work. This hackathon is the first to be held in the national level within the educational institution.
María Isabel Arroyo Molina mentioned that they expect an attendance of 300 students from several states of the country and highlighted that they have prepared 55 work hours. "We want to offer tangible solutions to society. The event will also have workshops, conferences, and a panel with experts."
The Director of Future Lab said that thanks to this event, you could see the student's creativity linked to technological innovation to develop a benefit for society. Also, they highlighted that on May 18, it will be an open day for all audience and invited the community to approach and see how a hackathon works.
The Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez mentioned that "GuanaHacks 2018" is part of the "Ecosystem Vida UG" linkedto the program "Conciudadanía", which follow four axes: selfcare culture, culture of legality, artistic appreciation and interest for science.
