Guanajuato, Gto., May 10, 2018.- With the purpose to ease the necessary tools for the student's academic strengthening, the University of Guanajuato (UG) opens a new educational program; the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Social Solidarity Economy (DIESS for its acronym in Spanish) at Campus Celaya-Salvatierra.

This postgraduate merges multiples theoretical and methodological focuses to document and comprehend the initiatives and processes of constructing economies, as well as contributing the transformation of the current economic logics.

The main objective is to form researchers with a strong theoretical and methodological rigor, capable of generating and transmitting knowledge about social solidarity economy, as alternative for the social, economic, political, cultural and environmental problems, produce of the capitalist market economy.

This program was created by a group of researchers from three Mexican universities; the University of Guanajuato, the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes and the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo.

The relevance of this program is to generate an answer to the need to address economic problems from the country and Latin America from plural visions, linked to the practices of the actors and social organizations, beyond the traditional visions linked to the state and market.

Whoever is interested in applying for the DIEES program, given its interdisciplinary character, must have a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Social Sciences, Economy, Administration, or Humanities, in addition of becoming a full-time participant for the activities the program demands.
