Guanajuato, Gto. May 12, 2018.- The bachelor's degree in Interior Design of the Department of Design of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), obtained the certification as a Quality Program from the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Programs of Design A.C. (Comaprod).

This recognition was obtained by fulfilling the necessary requirements to be accredited as a quality program and will be valid until September 22, 2022.

The record of accreditation was handed by Marcela Castro Cantú, President of Comaprod to Dr. Francisco Javier González Compeán, Director of the Division of Architecture, Art & Design; to LDG. Edgar Morales Ramírez, Director of the Department of Design and the M. Aracely Arroyo Rodríguez, Coordinator of the degree in Interior Design.

This certification reveals the importance of a continuous follow up of the degree in interior design, opening new horizons towards new national and international trends in interiors, as mentioned by Marcela Castro, President of Comaprod, during the ceremony.

Comaprod is a renowned organism by the Council for Accreditation of Higher Education A.C. (Copaes), with the purpose to certify design teaching programs in bachelor's degree both in the Mexican republic and abroad.

The main purpose of the latter is to generate a culture of university quality in the design programs through a continuous evaluation based in reference frameworks and parameters that incentive the development and continuous improvement.

The accreditation was submitted to Comaprod in 2014, after completing several stages, they began collecting evidence of the activities of the academic personnel and student community.

Then, they revealed the syllabus; the evaluation of learning; the comprehensive formation of service to support learning; aspects about liaison-outreach; research: infrastructure-equipment; and administrative management.

Finally, on September 2017, they received evaluators and academic peers, who made the analysis and reviewed the files, interviewed the academic personnel, students, graduates, employers, and gave the resolution to certify the bachelor's degree in Interior Design and give the record obtaining Level 1 in the Census of the Certified Higher Education Programs for their Good Quality.
