en-puerta-iv-jornada-de-investigacion-estudiantil-musical-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., May 15, 2018.- The students from the bachelor's and postgraduate degrees in musicology, ethnomusicology, musical interpretation, composition, musical education, arts, humanities and related disciplines, will be able to participate in the IV Student Journey of Musical Research DEMAE 2018, so they must register before May 25.

The summon to such journey is from the Department of Music and Scenic Arts (DEMAE) of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), through their consolidated academic body of musicology.

In an interview, Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, Coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the Journey and Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, member of the Committee and Coordinator of the Musicology cloister and the master's degree in Arts.

Dr. Pérez Sánchez, who teaches the class of "The poetic of the instrument", sustained that these journeys have been a success, in the sense that the students are interested in theoretical research, since the modality is to expose and play the researched in a one-day journey.

This allows to apply these documents, let the result of their work "be heard" and the answer of the students has been very good, because they like to not only value the theoretical knowledge, but they have the chance to choose the topic among themselves.

Likewise, Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, who teaches the class of Introduction to Research, observed that some students, especially of musicology, insert in these journeys presenting their progress of the year, and it has been resourceful.

This is for the student to, as he or she develops through the degree, gets involved in this kind of events besides of presenting contributions to a specific topic and then participate in this kind of projects abroad, he said.

There are three general research lines, to the taste of the student and there's a great response among the community and there are also several students from UNAM that notified that they will participate, in addition of UG students, but also its positive for the professors, because they generate new knowledge, research is published and recorded.

All of that, takes them to the path of research and the preparation for the "research summer" held in July and August, and having this experience in the journey, gives the youth more safety and it is also a previous step to the protocol.

In that sense, the Student Journey seeks to encourage the interest in research activities about historical, systematic and applied musicology in the students, through the written-oral expo and musical interpretation of the results of inquiries made about documents and musical practices that possess relevant historical, cultural, artistical, scientific and social values.

This contributes to create a space for distinctive student and academic dialog, where they discuss about the path taken by the students in their research progress.

The students who are interested must do the necessary before Friday May 25 and the selected works will be revealed on Monday May 28 through the personal email of the speaker and the expos of the research results will last 15mins tops to be done on Friday June 8, 2018, in the Arts building, venue Marfil.

The academic body that will review the quality of the talks to choose the best, will be comprised by Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto (responsible), Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra; Dr. Alejandra Béjar Bartolo and Dr. Roberto Gustavo Morales Manzanares.
