departamento-de-musica-y-artes-escenicas-de-la-ug-presenta-grabacion-muestra-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., May 18, 2018.- The first of three CDs was presented by the Department of Music and Scenic Arts (DEMAE) and backed by the Rectory of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG) to preserve, divulge and perfect the teaching of music.

This recording leaves a record and registry of what the professors and students in the classrooms of the Arts Building, venue Marfil, of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of Campus Guanajuato; work, play and create on.

Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, rector of Campus Guanajuato, congratulated who conceived and concreted this important project and all the professors who have were part of this splendid recording.

She shared the pleasant surprise that she took while receiving a piece of the sample recording from Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, coordinator of this project, for the multiple content, the quality, the oral history, the memory of a whole research process and production of the professors of the Department of Music and Scenic Arts.

It is a disc, she said, in which they incorporate plays played by professors, they present interesting and informed dialogues, the electronic work of the professor of the composition cloister, the piano cloister with a duo and four hands and a duo with an accordion and piano.

Hence, she congratulated all DEMAE's members, specially the Director, M. Luis Flores, who has been an active promoter of a series of musical expressions; the Coordinator of the Project, Dr. Pérez Sánchez and all the professors that intervened in the recording: Hilda Esther Sandoval, Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, Luis Flores, Ramón Alvarado, Fabrizio Ammetto, Alfonso Pérez Cruz, Elena Podzharova, Alejandra Béjar, Francisco Javier García Ledezma, Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, Rodolfo Ponce Montero, Vladimir Ibarra, Iván Manzanilla, Alberto Morales & Jacobo Cerda.

Luis Flores Villagómez, Director of the DEMAE, mentioned that many ask how the recordings would have been in the baroque period, in the classic and others; they can only assume, they were in another tune, and even the instruments had other characteristics.

Hence the importance to always have a witness, he said, and the commitment in that sense is to make recordings at least one per semester, from everything the DEMAE creates.

In his opportunity, Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, Coordinator of the discographic project reminded that since its foundation, in 1952, in the Department of Music (school back then), has had great voices that taught not only to be good musicians but better human beings, to consider in the music an holistic matter and be aware of that responsibility with society: accompany the people in happy and sad moments.

He celebrated that the university authorities are trying to boost this union, that the knowledge doesn't get "stuck" in the classrooms but leave testimonies and establish dialogue.

In that sense, the interest of the project was to gather a series of professors and each one, without removing the freedom of speech, offer a piece; project that also, joined the the beginning of the degree in Musicology, which will begin to be a part of the students not only in the interpretation but also in the research and rescue of the tangible heritage.

This is how this product emerged, they recognize the labor and leave memory, in this first of three CDs, for which they will invite different professors, different cloisters, explore formulas with the intention to share with the audience and consider the musician as a valuable character, specially in times of uncertainty.

During the presenting of the recording sample, held in the Iconographic Museum of the Quijote, the DEMAE's Choir, played some pieces, as well as the piano duet formed by Dr. Elena Podzharova and Dr. Alejandra Béjar, and the duet of accordion and piano, formed by M. Alfonso Pérez Cruz and Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez. At the event were present, students and professors of the university community and public in general.
