University authorities received the engineer Luis Iván Ruiz Flores, director of ETAP Latin America, to reveal the plaque and open the laboratory that will benefit the students of the programs in Electric engineering and Mechatronics engineering.

With the 25 donated software licenses and their maintenance policies for three years, with an estimated value of $800 thousand dollars, the students will learn to model systems based on energy and measure their quality in the most approximate form to reality, this software is used in more than 5,000 companies in the energetic sector.

The visitor, offered to help the students make their thesis project in the ETAP Power Lab, and give them free personalized key with certain active modules, so they can continue in their research project outside school.

The Department of Electrical Engineering, aware of its responsibility with the educational quality, was negotiating the new laboratory since in the electric sector there is an important transition derived from the energetic reform and the technological transformation, explained the director, Dr. José Merced Lozano García.

Likewise, the university community was very interested in the master conference by Ing. Ruiz Flores called "Mexico 2018 and the future of the electrical engineer in the decisions of the country", in addition of participating in the ETAP 101 MX seminar about design, analysis and operation of electrical power systems.

As witnesses of the lab opening, the engineer Francisco Vital Flores, sub manager of services at LAPEM; the engineer Héctor Turrubiates García, chief of the communications office at C.F.E., as well as the leader of the VIDA UG ecosystem, Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño.

ETAP is a company that offers complete software solutions in design, simulation, optimization and control of electrical power systems.
