Salamanca, Gto., May 21, 2018.- With the purpose to awaken the interest in knowledge and influence in the technological, industrial and intellectual development of the country; students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) organized the Second Science and Technology Fair "E3Fair", at the "Casa de las Artes" in Salamanca.
The event gathered 900 children from elementary schools who in a fun way could learn about physics and chemistry, renewable energies, new materials, electricity, electronic circuits, robotics, magnetic fields, electrical motors, magnetic levitation, spectroscopy, hydraulics and pneumatics, optics, 3D printing, laser rays and a mini-baja car show. In addition, at the end of the tour where they knew the projects, they gave presents to the attendants.
The Science Fair was organized by members of the fraternity Pi Tau Sigma, in collaboration with the Student Branch in UG ASME International and SOMIM (International Societies and Mexican Mechanical Engineering) both group students are from the Division of Engineering of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca of the University of Guanajuato.
Dr. Abel Hernández Guerrero and Dr. José Luis Luviano Ortiz, national researchers and advisors of both student associations, collaborated to organize this event. In addition, Dr. Julián Moisés Estudillo Ayala, advisor of UG's student branch IEEE Photonics, contributed several optics experiments.
Bruno Pérez Aguilar, a student at the degree in Mechanical Engineering and President of the Guanajuato Beta Theta Chapter of the Honor International Society in Mechanical Engineering Pi Tau Sigma, mentioned that this edition will present 50 scientific projects, and widened the schedule to receive the children until 18:00hrs, to have more participation of elementary schools in both shifts.
It worthy to mention that the Science and Technology Fair "E3Fair" was founded in 1991 by the engineering societies of the Rochester Institute of Technology in US. UG students retook this model, conserving the purpose of awakening the taste in science, technology and engineering.
