Guanajuato, Gto., May 28, 2018.- With the objective to contribute in the improvement of the teaching practice for the basic scientific formation of the children of Guanajuato, the University of Guanajuato (UG) collaborated with the Department of Education of Guanajuato (SEG) with the project called "Ciencia a la Carta" (Science on the menu).
This project is a collaboration of the Ecosystem of Liaison, Innovation, Development and Application of Knowledge of the University of Guanajuato (VIDA UG), presided by the University Center of Liaison with the Environment A.C. (VEN), as revealed by Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño Coordinator of VIDA UG.
For a month, more than thirty projects were evaluated UG professors collaborated as advisors, who analyzed the different projects enrolled to the diffusion of science made by high school and elementary school professors.
Seven workshops were carried out simultaneously, with the participation 132 speakers in elementary and middle school of the different regional delegations at SEG. The workshops emphasized in Natural, Physics and Chemical sciences.
The variety of advisors was constituted by five professors, two graduates from the University of Guanajuato, and an external; all with the knowledge, domain of strategies and skills to learn sciences in basic education and experience in handling practical and experimental activities.
It is important to mention that this event is the result of a set of projects from "Ciencia a la Carta" that completed several stages of creation, advise, evaluation and practice, where UG scholars contributed so the basic level professors develop skills, so children can have access to basic scientific knowledge in a fun and dynamic way.
One of the projects was a game like the traditional "Juego de la OCA", just this time the topics were black holes, shuttles, concepts of physics and chemistry, in a way the young students could assimilate the astronomical, physical and chemical concepts in a ludic way.
Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño highlighted the vision SEG and UG have, he considered that the more knowledge and skills acquired about exact sciences they have, they'll reach the higher levels of education in these areas with strength and increase their competencies.
