Celaya, Gto., May 31, 2018.- Civil engineering students from the Campus Celaya-Salvatierra competed in the XXXIV Olympiad of the National Association of Civil Engineering students, achieving excellent results in four areas of competence: academic, technical, sporting and Cultural.
The Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora was the headquarters of the National Olympiad that brought together 968 students of the Civil engineering degree of 62 Universities of 31 states of the country, with the purpose of promoting the bonds of friendship between the students and the exchange of experiences , knowledge, methods of study, projects and good practices.
From the Campus Celaya-Salvatierra attended a contingent composed of 16 students, who returned home with gold, silver and bronze medals for having achieved outstanding positions in the competitions held from May 22 to 28.
In sports, the students achieved bronze in mountain biking and silver in fast football; In the technical competencies, they achieved second place in costs and first place in electrical resistivity, second place in cement efficiency and first place in overall performance of the eighth national Concrete competition; In the cultural competitions, the young men achieved bronze medal in oratory.
With a relatively small contingent, seven medals were achieved, which shows the level of our competitors, but, above all, the commitment, effort and desire they showed in each of the clashes, as a result of previous preparatory days, reported José Juan Niño Lara, delegate of the ANEIC in Celaya.
By making known to the Director of the Division, Dr. Silvia del Carmen Delgado Sandoval the results obtained in the Olympics, Niño Lara expressed her desire to improve and continue carrying out activities that allow them to prepare the selected ones for future competitions.
In this sense, gratitude was extended to the members of the local committee ANEIC Celaya, for their participation in the organization, selection and preparation of the representatives in the OlimpiANEIC.
