se-presento-libro-la-fenomenologia-dels-egundo-levinas-de-investigadora-ug-ugtoGuanajuato, Gto., June 2, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) through the Department of Philosophy of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities (DCSH) of the Campus Guanajuato, presented the book "The Phenomenology of the second Lévinas", of the authorship of Dr. Patricia Castillo Becerra, Researcher and teacher of this university.

The text was presented by Dr. Javier Corona Fernández in the French Alliance, an institution that participated in the organization of the meeting, in coordination with the Editorial area of the DCSH that heads the M. Diana Espinoza Elías, who also performed the editorial review.

Dr. Corona Fernández congratulated the author of this book, which is the result of a doctoral research, which in his opinion should be the destination of doctoral theses: to become books and, from there, in important research projects.

For the Department of Philosophy in particular and for the University of Guanajuato in general, said, a new book is a great reason for satisfaction in front of all the audio visual media that surround us, but without the depth and exhaustive work that implies the Publication of a text of this magnitude.

He also highlighted the interesting foreword by Javier San Martín, Spanish professor with profound knowledge of phenomenology and invited to the UG to offer courses.

It is worth mentioning that the book by Dr. Patricia Castillo is the continuation of her work "The ontology of the first Lévinas", and both come from her doctoral thesis. In "The Phenomenology of the second Lévinas" The Levinasiano road was rebuilt since the mid-thirties, when Lévinas began to distance himself from Heidegger.

The book consists of four parts and a small epilogue in which it is exposed, by way of conclusion, what would drill the margins of the presence, which would be a summary of the proposal Levinasiana. Of the four parts, the first two follow a chronological order, in accordance with the periods established already in 1982 by the Jesuit Ulpiano Vázquez Moro.

Dr. Castillo Becerra, thanked the French Alliance for hosting the presentation of his book, and in particular Eduardo Estala Rojas, coordinator of Communication and culture of that institution, for all the facilities and courtesies.

He revealed that the work presented involved almost nine years dedicated to a project like the review of Lévinas.

It should be quoted that Dr. Patricia Castillo Becerra is a PhD in philosophy from the University of Seville. She is currently a researcher in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Guanajuato. Her research topics address contemporary French ontology and philosophy. Her publications include: The ontology of the first Lévinas (UG, 2013), event and literary expression: studies on Deleuze (Colophon, 2016) and the article "La Méta-phénoménologie chez Levinas et Henry", in Revue Internationale Michel Henry (presses Universitaires de Louvain, 2016).
