Guanajuato, Gto., June 8, 2018.- With the participation of higher education institutions of the country and foreign, it was carried out in the building of the arts, Marfil venue of the Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), the "IV Student Conference of Musical Research 2018. History, Application and systematization ".

With this conference, the Department of Music and Performing Arts (DEMAE) seeks to foster interest in research activities on topics of historical, systematic and applied musicology in the musicology students, ethnomusicology, musical interpretation, composition and musical education, said Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, coordinator of the organizing Committee of the day.

He explained that this is done through the oral-written exhibition and artistic interpretation of the results of research carried out on practices and musical documents that have relevant historical, cultural, artistic, scientific and social values; Contributes to create a space for student and academic dialogue distinctive, where it is discussed on the paths followed by students in their research advances.

The exhibitions took place in the rooms A, B and Hall 208 of the Arts Building, after the opening ceremony, which was presided by Dr. Salvador Salas Zamudio, on behalf of Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendon Huerta Barrera, rector of the Campus Guanajuato.

In his message, Dr. Salas celebrated the impulse of the talents of scholars and students, and welcomed the students of the participating institutions: University of Guanajuato, Universidad de Granada, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatán, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Universidad de Guadalajara & Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro.

Also participated in the ceremony; Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean, Director of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD); M. Luis Flores Villagómez, Director of the Department of Music and Performing Arts and Dr. María Isabel de Jesús Téllez García, Academic Secretary of the DAAD and professor of the Design Department, who offered the conference "Music and its relationship with the Arts and Design ".

Also present were the members of the organizing committee headed by Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, M. Pablo Alejandro Suárez Marrero, M. Berenice Arnold Hernández, Lic. Renier Garnier García and Lic. Jonathan Josafat González García.

Similarly, the members of the Scientific Committee of the consolidated academic body "Musicology", Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto, Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra, Dr. Alejandra Béjar Bartolo and Dr. Roberto Gustavo Morales Manzanares.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibitions continued for several hours, under some of the following topics: "Tradition and regional music", "Visions of the vocal-instrumental Music", "Electroacoustic, mathematics and sound creations", "Interpretative techniques and of Musical research", "Musical analysis of instrumental repertoires ","Perceptions and sound obsessions ","Music Stories".

Likewise, "Manuel M. Ponce: Life and Work", "A Journey through compositional aesthetics", "theory and musical practice of the critical edition" and the "interrelation between the sound and visual arts".
