
Tierra Blanca, Gto., June 13, 2018.- The program of the degree in Nursing and Obstetrics of the Northeastern Interdisciplinary Center of Guanajuato (CINUG), organized the 2nd Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Care Symposium, where they awarded the best research protocols of students in this educational program.
They also had talks about multidisciplinary topics, given by the guests from hospital centers and institutions of different educational centers and the very own University of Guanajuato (UG), where the collaborative work outstood in the different disciplines in matter of health.
The students from the eighth semester of the degree in Nursing and Obstetrics presented posters of the research made during the last year, focused on the problems that affect the population in the Northeast of Guanajuato, which were evaluated by researchers who attended the event.
The research protocols that won were: "Relationship between the water polluted by fluoride and the IQ in the population between 15 to 25 years old" by the students Cecilia Martínez Ramírez, María Fátima Hernández Trejo y Patricia Rodríguez Juárez.
The second place was for the study "Changes in the family dynamic with one child with psychomotor disorder" by Judith Delgado Palacios and Gerardo Salazar Suárez; and the third place was obtained by the project "Level of knowledge about contraceptive methods from the gender perspective in college students" by Luis Eduardo Terán Campos and Janeth Cárdenas Ramírez.
Dr. Ma. Gloria Vega Argote, Director of the Department of Nursing and Obstetrics, emphasized the importance research has in the topic of health, so she thanked the faculty for organizing the event and the commitment shown towards the student community at CINUG.
At the event participated M. Claudia Celic Guzmán Ruiz, Coordinator of the venue; Dr. Alejandro Morales Gines, Coordinator of the Department of Research of the Universidad de Coahuila; M. María del Rosario Tolentino Ferrel, Director of the Department of Nursing and Obstetrics of the División of Health Sciences and Engineering at Campus Celaya–Salvatierra; Dr. Cuauhtémoc Sandoval Salazar, Coordinator of the degree in Nutrition at the same campus and M. Enrique Blancarte Fuentes, Head Nurse at the General Hospital of Celaya.
Additionally, in a space between the conferences, students of the "Instituto Americano de San Luis de la Paz" presented an activity related to the importance of the timely detection of breast cancer, contributing the make the youth aware.
This is the second time the symposium is held; whose objective is to induce the student community to base and defend the topic of research and propitiate the scientific development of the vocation of nursing with high humanitarian values.
