Salamanca, Gto., June 18, 2018.- To reinforce the research done in alternative refrigerants that can substitute those of high atmospheric warming potential, a Spanish post doctorate collaborates with professors of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca in developing an algorithm that allows the prediction of the behavior of an experimental installation of steam compression, with applications in commercial type refrigeration chambers.
Dr. Adrián Mota Babiloni, a post doctorate researcher of the group of Engineering in Energetic and Thermal Systems (ISTENER) of the Universitat Jaume I, in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, is on a two-month stay at the venue Salamanca, collaborating with the professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Juan Manuel Belman and Dr. Sergio Ledesma, as well as Dr. Vicente Pérez García with whom he works in the simulation and evaluation of experimental curves.
This collaboration is focus on predicting by computer the energetic behavior of steam compression systems by using genetic algorithms and in neuronal networks, with the use of different substances to the conventional ones, that don't pollute.
He commented that the professors of the Division of Engineering of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca have experience in modeling and the calculus, and in his institution of origin they have an experimental steam compression system that delivers data to apply them to those models, that somehow, conjugating the experience of both parts they expect to publish international collaboration articles.
Mota Babilon has a Ph.D. in engineering and industrial production by Universidad Politécnica of Valencia and works since 2017 as a post-doctoral researcher in the ISTENER group, that belongs to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Construction at the same university.
In addition to his stay, he gave several conferences to the community of the Division of Engineering, one of them was "Analysis of the actual state of the removal of HFCS (hydrofluorocarbons) in refrigeration and air conditioning systems" since his main research line are the low-´potential global warming refrigerants (PCA) for steam compression systems.
The visitor is also an author, next to Joaquín Navarro Esbrí, of the book "Auditoría energética en una empresa de materiales de construcción: Auditoría energética y propuesta de medidas de ahorro energético en una empresa productora de materiales de construcción".
