Celaya, Gto., June 27, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) and the University of Santo Tomás de Colombia will work with companies in the region the projects: "Perspectives of the financial audit in the city of Celaya" and "Preventive financial review".
While evaluating the perception the small businessman has about the financial audit, the researchers found out that they associate the concept of audit with fear, which leads in a first instance to resist to seek professional help since they're not willing to exhibit their accounting financial states because of fear of receiving sanctions due to the irregularities in which they could be incurring, mentions Dr. Eva Lozano Montero, who leads the group of specialists who collaborate in the projects.
For this reason, they designed a new project called "Preventive financial review", parting from an intervention within the company that begins with a situational diagnosis to locate the improvement areas in accountable, financial, legal, administrative and marketing aspects. Based on the results from the diagnosis, the improvement plan is designed, adds Dr. Lozano.
While mentioning the form they've worked in the first stage of the project, the businessman Fernando Rubio Cueto Lara, mentioned that the support from UG has been crucial because it has allowed them to know the operational deficiencies that were slowing down their development and the specific aspects in which they had to improve.
At a work meeting, Dr. Eva Lozano, Montero, Dr. Roberto Godínez López, from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and the doctorate student Daniel Balaguera Melo, of the Universidad Colombiana, worked with Fernando Rubio to design the intervention plan for the second stage, in which they plan to design the strategy to detonate the company's growth. "The businessmen are not do-it-all-s, we need the tools the professionals know and dominate, each one in their specialty", mentioned Fernando Rubio.
"With UG's support, we have achieved many of the practices we had in accounting. We no longer see accounting with fear, but as a tool in which we can support each other to project the growth of the company and don't make the same mistakes again", he added.
Dr. Lozano explained that the intervention they'll do is not to raise acts, or make observations that have legal implications, but to diagnose and design an aid plan for the businessman to improve the processes and remain in the market.
Daniel Balaguera is taking the doctorate degree in Administration and participates in this project. His purpose of coming to Mexico, is to professionally contribute and replicate the model in his homeland, hence, they analyze the mechanisms that could create a co-participation agreement between both universities, to work with research groups and Colombian small and medium companies.
At the University of Guanajuato, five specialists intervene in the project from the areas of accounting, marketing, administration, law and industrial relationships; five students doing professional social service and the businessmen in the region.
The application of the project is cost-free for the company. "Us public universities have the commitment to support the companies in the region and we'll do so by getting support at the same time from the government to strengthen the economy and the development", emphasizes Dr. Eva Lozano.
