rescata-ug-la-casa-natal-del-nigromante-ugtoSan Miguel de Allende, Gto., July 19, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) began the restoration of the home where the writer and lawyer Ignacio Ramírez "The Necromancer" lived, to turn it into a cultural venue.

The intention is to have permanent and temporal exhibits, where they can carry out artistic events, "that can be a place of encounter for the university community and the city", mentioned UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino.

The birth home of Ignacio Paulino Ramírez Calzada "The Necromancer", located in downtown San Miguel de Allende belongs to UG; institution that took on the commitment to "give it cultural and university life" to honor the memory of who also was an outstanding poet, journalist and legislator, he was a great negotiator of education, art and culture.

The project includes an exhibit area, a reading area, art galleries, coffee shop and bathrooms. It has already been approved by INAH, from the point of view of museography, but also from the conservation and restoration, because it is a historical cultural heritage, detailed the director of Infrastructure and College Services, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval.

He explained that they'll preserve the features of the house as a historical monument, because the building is already catalogued and inventoried by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

Also, he mentioned that they have the authorization of the city of San Miguel de Allende to make the restoration. In the cleaning and protection works were invested $400,000 pesos (MXN), in a second stage they will destine 2 million pesos, and they'll negotiate more resources, because of the cost implied by the conservation and maintenance.
