University authorities also presented expansion and rehabilitation construction in the venue Campestre
Guanajuato, Gto., August 2, 2018.- With the purpose to offer better spaces for the academic development and research, as well as to link knowledge with society, they inaugurated the rehabilitation area of UG's Vida Tower, at Campus León of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
UG's Vida Tower –formerly known as UG's Medical Tower—is at the venue San Carlos and constitutes an ambitious and innovative project, transdisciplinary and multi-campus, mentioned UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, with which they seek to cause an impact in the student's development, but also in society's.
The first rule of this project is for the liaison to offer the student community better possibilities for academic performance, and for the infrastructure to be of help for the students that apply their knowledge before graduating college.
In this first stage, they inaugurated the Tower's rehabilitation area, where in short and long term they will offer a comprehensive rehabilitation service. For now, they'll begin with physiotherapy and with diagnosis of movement alterations through a laboratory of high human performance, explained Dr. Beatriz González Sandoval, overseer of the project.
For this, they have electrotherapy cubicles, laser, ultrasound, shockwave equipment; items for neurodevelopment and psychomotricity for children and adults; an area to do therapeutic exercise; muscular re-education, hydrotherapy, among others.
The overseer of the rehabilitation area detailed that at first the services will be for patients of UG's Medical Network, as well as for those who are channeled from other institutions they have agreement with.
At the event, the Rector of Campus León, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez thanked the team from General Rectory for supporting the project and mentioned that in UG's Vida Tower converge the three reign activities of the institution: research, teaching and liaison with the society, through health services.
He sustained that the axis that will set the difference of the Tower will be the academic excellence and highlighted that this project is prove of the social responsibility of the University of Guanajuato.
Besides the rehabilitation area at UG's Vida Tower, they also inaugurated the coffee shop at the venue San Carlos, a space that will open its doors once the furniture is completely acquired.
On another part, the university authorities attended to the venue Campestre of Campus León where they made a formal delivery of the library's expansion and the rehabilitation of the auditorium of the Division of Sciences and Engineering.
The Division's Director, Dr. David Yves Ghislain Delepine, affirmed that it is about emblematic spaces, that are "the heart of the academic activity", and thanked the institutional support to carry out these constructions.
To these events attended the Secretary of Negotiation and Development of UG, Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo; the Director of Infrastructure and University Services; M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval; the General Director of UG's Vida Tower, Dr. Francisco Villareal Segoviano; the directors of the three divisions of Campus León and members of the university community.
