Guanajuato, Gto., August 1, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) consolidates as the second public university with more presence in the international level.

During the welcome ceremony to whom will make an academic stay in the school cycle that is about to being, UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, sustained that when they return to their places of origin they'll take life experiences and brotherhood back, because, yes, the human can be autonomous but never self-sufficient, "you become more human when you coexist with different and diverse cultures".

This time, 153 students were welcomed, from which 102 are foreign and 51 from different states of the country. All of them will have an academic stay in the school period Aug-Dec 2018.

For the period that will begin in the next few days, youth from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru and Sweden, will study in one of the four campuses the University of Guanajuato has.

At the beginning of the event, the Director of International Relationships and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz remarked to the exchange students "we hope that in a future you become fulltime students in the search of a degree in the University of Guanajuato".

So, he informed that in postgraduate they have 32 young students from different nationalities, meaning, a 14%. And in the Research Summers, 20% are foreign students. He added that UG has professors from twenty countries.

During the ceremony, Judith Wimmer, an international exchange student from the Universität Salzburg in Austria who will study in the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of Campus Guanajuato, spoke on behalf of who will make the mobility stays at UG. In her message she stated that it is a great opportunity to study at UG where they'll obtain a great personal and professional experience, likewise she is excited to the access to the vast array of books in the libraries of this university.

At the welcome ceremony were present the Academic Secretary of UG, Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo; the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez and members of the university community.
