Guanajuato, Gto., August 1, 2018.- Students from different national and foreign universities presented the results of the Research Summers 2018 that were held at the Division of Law, Politics and Government of the University of Guanajuato (UG) under the advisory of the professor and researcher, Dr. Fernando Barrientos Del Monte.

Dr. Fernando Barrientos Del Monte received students from national and international universities with whom he worked in the development of his research, which were focused in the branches of Political Science, Public Administration and Law. In addition, UG's professor-researcher gave the students and inductive course to Compared Politics with the purpose to complement their academic formation.

In an interview, the student from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Elena Zarahiel Dueñas Kin, mentioned that she decided to make a research summer in the University of Guanajuato because it is a national and internationally renowned institution for its academic quality. She worked in the subject "Alternance in the states of Baja California (1989-2013) and Guanajuato (1991-2012). The dynamic of the party system."

She remarked that making a research summer in the University of Guanajuato gave her many satisfactions and knowledge that will continue developing in her formation as a researcher.

Efraín Valdovinos Téllez of the Universidad de la Ciénega del Estado de Michoacán de Ocampo also had a stay in the University of Guanajuato with a research called "Transparency as a fundamental axis for governability". The student mentioned that it is important to raise awareness about the subject because transparency is an indispensable characteristic for the development of a good government.

María Guadalupe López Girón from Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas presented the project "The clients in Chiapas and Guanajuato in electoral periods: 2012 elections". She mentioned that UG is an institution that provided all the elements to develop their research and was advised by a committed professor who followed up her work.

To finalize, the student Camilo Portilla Satizabal from the Universidad de Santiago de Cali, Colombia; indicated that his visit to UG was enriching because he worked in the subject "The vote as a sanction mechanism to corrupt political parties" and so, he could analyze the situation that occurs both in his country and in Mexico.

It is important to mention that Dr. Barrientos has a Ph.D. in Political Science specialized in Compared Politics by the University of Florence, Italy; Master's in international Relationships Europe-Latin America with an specialization in Political Economy by the University of Bologna, Italy; and a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences and Public Administration by UNAM, Mexico.

The research summers of the University of Guanajuato are held every year with the purpose to awake in the students the taste for scientific activity in any of the disciplinary areas.
