Mexico City July 30, 2018.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) ratified the collaboration agreement with the National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH) after two years of creating the interinstitutional postgraduates in Human Rights.

In an event called "Progress of the interinstitutional postgraduates after two years of being implemented", representatives from the involved institutions gathered with the purpose to share the educational importance in Human Rights, the collaboration mode the involved universities have followed –Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS), Universidad Autónoma de Campeche (UAC) y Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (UAT)—and the evolution of the programs during the period.

Also, they officially revealed the acknowledgement from the National Program of Quality Postgraduates (PNPC) in Humanities and Social Sciences, recently obtained.

During the event, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino highlighted the transcendence of the interinstitutional programs for master's and doctorates in human rights, since through them, they generate research, teaching and joint publications.

Dr. Guerrero Agripino mentioned that both the master's and the doctorate represent an effort to create research lines with quality and relevance, in addition of creating a collaboration scheme to strengthen the democracy with a culture utter of human rights.

The President of the University of Guanajuato also spoke about the social commitment of the public universities and its humanist vocation; these features allow to assume the corresponding treatment for problems such as the migratory phenomena, the increase of violence, the urban growth and the development of the information technologies and communication with the benefits and risk zones.

Likewise, the Presidents of the other involved institutions: Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur, Dr. Gustavo Rodolfo Cruz Chávez, the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche, Lic. Gerardo Montero Pérez and the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala, M. Rubén Reyes Córdoba spoke about the influence of the postgraduates to which they defined as a shared effort to create a country that is more equal and just through teamwork offered by public high education.

CNDH's President, Lic. Luis Raúl González Pérez congratulated the educational institutions for the award the interinstitutional master's and postgraduate in human rights received from the National Program of CONACyT. He remarked that the master's 192 students and the doctorate have 63, and both have a faculty staff with the highest standards of academic quality.

To finalize, the Director of Postgraduate of CONACyT, Dr. Luis Ponce Ramírez, mentioned the transcendence of PNPC's recognition since it contributes to build a knowledge focused on the defense and protection of the human rights, as well as the attention to victims and design public policies that contribute to a social welfare.
