-Three floors of the Multidisciplinary Building, a running track and a soccer field were inaugurated.

Celaya, Gto., a 6 de agosto de 2018.- With the purpose to favor the comprehensive formation of the student community, university authorities inaugurated three floors of the Multidisciplinary Building at the Campus, as well as a running track and a grass soccer field.

As for the cubicles module, second, third and fourth floor of the Multidisciplinary Building of the Campus that hosts 27 classrooms, 50 cubicles, 2 meeting rooms, 2 site, 2 computing centers and 4-bathroom modules the investment was 36 million pesos.

The professional tartan running track and soccer field with natural grass, both with official measures, 11 million pesos were invested. The resources were promised and came from the state and were authorized by the state governor, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, through the Department of Public Construction.

Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, President of the University of Guanajuato, acknowledged the importance of the effort it implies to offer better physical conditions to do the academic work, so he recognized and thanked the teamwork to materialize the results that today are visible.

It is not about inaugurating walls, nor buildings only, they represent, he said, an identity symbol, "this is where the knowledge, liaison products come from, this is where cultural projects to benefit the society come from, and each one of who we have the privilege to belong the University of Guanajuato."

The University is in each of its own spaces, in every enclosure and venue; its community, is the diversity of people who compose it, so the institution is a live entity that requires a physical part and a spiritual part intrinsically related, he affirmed.

Dr. Graciela Ma. de la Luz Ruiz Aguilar, Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, said that the 863 freshmen next to the 4,290 students at the campus can carry out different sport and academic activities in the appropriate spaces that contribute in their comprehensive formation.

The community of the campus reflects its strength and commitment by opening new spaces that allow not only to strengthen the generation of knowledge but boost their physical activation, she mentioned.

On the matter, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, Director of Infrastructure and College Services, recognized the joint effort that made the inauguration of these spaces possible and will have a positive impact in the development of UG's student community.

Professional running track is inaugurated

While inaugurating the professional running track, Eng. José Arturo Durán Miranda, Secretary of Public Construction of the State of Guanajuato, recognized the joint work of the state government and the University of Guanajuato, i.e. is the professional running track and the grass of the soccer field that will benefit more than five thousand students of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra.

After saying the technical specifications of the running track, the Secretary of Public Construction highlighted that is the 13th in the state that has the characteristics for professional practice.

To finalize, Dr. Guerrero Agripino expressed his gratitude to the state government because with their support the construction of the first professional running track of the University of Guanajuato was concreted.

He reminded that the students negotiated with the state governor to build the sport spaces, so he reaffirmed their commitment to promote, from General Rectory, actions that redound in the encouragement of the physical activation of who are part of their community.
