mas-de-700-proyectos-en-los-veranos-de-investigacion-ugGuanajuato, Gto. August 4, 2018.- With the participation of 709 students, the Scientific Research Summers 2018 ended at the University of Guanajuato (UG).

The purpose of the summers is to encourage in the students the taste for the scientific activity in any of their disciplines, through a research stay.

Students from different degrees from the four campuses and from the eleven high schools of UG participated in the areas of engineering and technologies, social-administrative sciences, agricultural sciences, natural and exact sciences, health sciences and education and humanities.

In comparison with the previous year, they had a 24% increase, which represents a university accomplishment that allows the academic enrichment in the students, who at the same time of their summer, they are gratified with a scholarship, allowing them to get the necessary material for their research and expenses such as enrollment fee to the next school cycle.

This UG Summer, was made in four modes and in the first edition of "Topada de Bandas Científicas", with diverse characteristics that allow the students to make activities according their profile or their discipline in which they unveil.

The first modality is on the 24th edition of the Scientific Research Summer with a participation of 430 students, with UG students and students from Tabasco who come to the research summer thank to an agreement with the State Council of Tabasco, an organism that makes a previous selection among the students of the Technological Institutes of the state.

The second modality is on the sixth edition of the Science Research Summer for Excellence Students enrolled in a higher education institution in the country or abroad which had the participation of 143 students, 9 different states of the republic like Yucatán, Sonora, Coahuila, Veracruz, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, and Sinaloa.

In the same modality, 125 foreign students participated, from eight countries such as Colombia, Guatemala, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Malaysia, United States and Taiwan.

The third modality is the fifth edition for high school students of the University of Guanajuato with the participation of 131 students from the eleven schools, where Guanajuato stood out with the larger number of participants for five consecutive years in this modality.

The last modality is in the second edition where they had the participation of five students in government dependencies or in the industry, generating projects with social benefits.

In the first edition of "Topada de Bandas Científicas" they generate knowledge through scientific research, entrepreneurism and innovation, by generating and developing projects to improve the environment, because of the collaborative work.

This time, 20 students of the High School College and 26 students from bachelor's participated creating groups to plan a project, which was presented to an evaluating committee. They approved five projects and were financed for the development of a first stage of their project to be done in the summer.

The University of Guanajuato, in addition of the Institutional Program of Scientific Research Summer, they have a participation in other programs both in receiving and sending students. In total, at least 806 students more participate in these programs.
