Irapuato, Gto. August 7, 2018.- The Division of Life Sciences (DICIVA) of the University of Guanajuato (UG) confirmed the reopening of the master's degree in Plant Vegetable Protection, which will begin courses the next September 11 this year on the Irapuato venue.
Dr. Eduardo Salazar Solís, coordinator of the postgraduate, informed that August 18 is the deadline to apply. The diagnosis exam and interview for the applicants will be on August 31 and September 1.
The master's degree in Plant Vegetable Protection focuses on the graduates from the degrees on Agronomy Engineering, Biology, Ecology and related areas that do or are interested in handling and controlling plague organisms in the agricultural, forest, fruit, industrial, livestock and urban zones; with the purpose to improve the efficiency of the plague control programs, ailments, weed and vectors of important medical diseases, explained the coordinator.
The program lasts two years with a quarterly plan, it has the objective to form professionals who are capable of designing and applying programs of integrated handling of noxious organisms; that know and apply the national and international legislation in the matter of vegetable sanity; the routinely uses biologic control of plague organisms, to reduce the use of pesticides and their negative impact in the environment and in non-white organisms, mentioned Dr. Diana Sanzón Gómez, Coordinator of the program of Agronomy Engineering at DICIVA.
The Director of the DICIVA, Dr. José Mario Mendoza Carrillo, considered that this postgraduate will allow to strengthen the agricultural sector in the state of Guanajuato.
