Guanajuato, Gto. July 8, 2018.- The purpose is to provide professionalization tools to who works in the Criminal Justice System, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES) through the University of Guanajuato (UG), so they offer a series of diplomats that influence in strengthening the procurement of justice and promotion of legal culture.
Dr. Leandro Eduardo Astrain Bañuelos, Director of the Department of Law of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPyG) of Campus Guanajuato mentioned that the diplomats are designed for the actors of the criminal system: fiscal, legal advisors of the victims, facilitators and defenders.
The first diplomat that will be taught is "The defender in the criminal justice system" that is expected to begin on August 17, and it is aimed for public and private defenders that are responsible for the defense of the imputed.
The second will be the "Update on Alternative Mechanisms of Solution for Controversies (MASC) in criminal matter", an important topic since in the new adversarial accusatory system is the backbone the alternate system since "most of the social conflicts of criminal nature must be solved through these", mentioned Dr. Astrain.
Then, it will be taught "The Fiscal/MP in the criminal justice system" aimed for the fiscals, who are responsible for doing the investigation.
Finally, there will be "The legal advisor of victim in the Criminal Justice System" aimed for the victims' legal advisors. On the matter, Dr. Eduardo Astrain mentioned that this is a new element of the accusatory system model since traditionally, the victim was in oblivion of the criminal law, "but in this system, the victim is recognized with rights of procedural nature, remarking that it is a subject of the process and as such, is entitled to a legal advisor."
Lastly, the Director of the Department of Law affirmed that the University of Guanajuato has shined for its leadership in teaching in the accusatory system, who consolidates these diplomats. "We have great quality professors, people who truly dominate the topic" so, this reaffirms the commitment of guaranteeing the quality of its educational offer.
