Irapuato, Gto. August 10, 2018.- The student of the University of Guanajuato (UG) Luis Javier Sánchez Pinzón, won the Municipal Youth Award 2018 in the category "Artistic Expressions and Popular Arts", summoned by the "Instituto Municipal de la Juventud Irapuatense (Imjuvi)."
The student of the program of the degree in Digital Arts at UG's Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, mentioned that since he detected a lack of artistic opportunities for children in the rural areas, he decided to go to the communities and teach guitar on Sundays.
"It is a small step, but I pretend to approach the children to the artistic and cultural art, for the people to realize that culture and art can be joyful for a kid and at the same time they can walk towards valuable actions for their future", he said.
From the award he received, he mentioned "for it means a lot, it is a very big step in my professional career, because when I was a kid I wanted to help people and that opened the doors to continue developing other projects with social impact."
The award ceremony was held in the City's Theatre for the winners in five categories: academic achievement, artistic expressions and popular arts, social commitment, science and technology and entrepreneur wit.
In the Municipal Youth Award 2018 summon, youth from Irapuato between 18 and 29 years old with an outstanding career participated in the previously mentioned categories.
Imjuvi's head, Luis Marcelino González Da Mota, highlighted during the award that they sought to acknowledge the youth that have worked in different areas in favor of the people of Irapuato.
