Tierra Blanca, Gto., August 13, 2018.- These spaces were inaugurated to favor the comprehensive development of university community, these are in the Interdisciplinary Center of Northeast (CINUG) and the HS San Luis de la Paz of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
UG's President, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, mentioned that these actions are the result of the quality and the equity of the education offered by this institution; "we are sending the message to the society of Guanajuato that this university is committed to be present in all the regions of the state" while reaffirming the commitment to continue working for this zone to have quality education.
On the matter, he assured that increasing the number of students is not enough, nor it has quality, but a highly important factor is equity; meaning, "the university is sensitive to different circumstances, to different factors that many times limit or make impossible to access education."
In the entrance of the multimodal education, in CINUG located in Tierra Blanca, there was an investment of 12.6 million pesos to build the module that will hold the Center for Self-Learning Languages (CAADI) in two-stories; in the lobby: bathroom module and six cubicles for professors; in the first floor: a study room, CAADI, cubicle for a professor, a conversation a room and a storage unit, with a 600 sq. m. area, includes hallways and access.
Plus, a second educational module with four classrooms in two levels with a 600 sq. m. surface, includes hallways and accesses with capacity for 150 students. Also, stairs to communicate the areas which will grow and the first stage of construction of the Food Laboratory.
Dr. Armando Gallegos Muñoz, Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, mentioned that CINUG shares the mission of the University of Guanajuato to contribute to the formation of the youth in Guanajuato with quality studies and humanist focus. By establishing in that region, UG "thought in the value and potential of the youth that deserves equal opportunities", he assured.
The Director of the Division of Life Sciences of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. José Mario Mendoza Castillo, said that these actions reaffirm the commitment of the university to take education to the zones where is needed.
He emphasized the importance to inaugurate spaces where they will teach multimodal education so, he confirmed, this will open a new panorama for the future generation of students of the region having a positive impact in their formation.
When he explained the construction made at CINUG, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, Director of Infrastructure and University Services highlighted the progress recorded in the edification of this center that began activities in 2015.
They inaugurate a roof and a dining room at HS San Luis de la Paz
Meanwhile, at HS San Luis de la Paz, 3 million pesos were invested in the construction of a roof based on a steel structure for the multiple use court that covers a 945 sq. m. area. And the construction of a dining room, with a capacity for 70 people, in a 202 sq. m. surface.
On the matter, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, President of the University of Guanajuato, highlighted the importance of the high school subsystem which has the institutional education fundament and identity in out university so, "it needs to be encouraged and fight for its strengthening, so they can have better development conditions".
In his intervention, the Director of the High School College, Dr. J. Merced Rizo Carmona, mentioned that "as college members we understand that the creative, innovative activity allows us to transform, to create bonds with our society, it needs to improve their physical plant, reason why we are gathered here", so he thanked the sum of wills who made it possible.
Highlighting the importance of the coordination of efforts to benefit the 473 students that form part of the community at HS San Luis de la Paz, the Director, M.I.E. Ma. Dolores García La Sienra Camarero, thanked the Federal Congressman, C.P.A. Timoteo Villa Ramírez, a graduate from the University of Guanajuato, for negotiating the resources that allowed the edification of these spaces inaugurated today and to whom they delivered a Testimony of Gratitude.
It is worth to mention that with this inauguration, it starts the program of the comprehensive improvement plan to the facilities of UG high schools though which each one of the instances contributed 20 million pesos. Likewise, the project "Súmate" began; encouraged by the program of Graduates with Identity, which in voice of their coordinator, M. Antonio Gónzalez Arroyo, consists in a summon for all the graduate community to sum in university projects.
